Sidney Sheldon was a bestselling author of crime and thriller novels. His books have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide. They are studded with mystery, crime, passion, and lust. He is one of my favorite writers. Here are 8 of his book that I find the most interesting:
Tell Me Your Dreams
The novel follows computer whiz Ashley Patterson who believes she is being stalked. It’s a story of three people, Ashley, her co-worker, and the beefcake artist Alette Peters who know nothing about each other until they are linked by a murder investigation that will lead to one of the most bizarre trials of the century.
If Tomorrow Comes
Tracy Whitney is on the verge of marrying the man she loves and starting an exciting, glamorous new life when she is unexpectedly betrayed and framed by the Mafia for a crime she didn’t commit. Abandoned by her fiancé and sentenced to fifteen years in prison, Tracy comes up with an audacious plan to exact revenge, bringing her face-to-face with the mastermind behind her downfall. This book was epic, I loved every bit of it.
Roe & Sons is an established, wealthy, powerful international firm. The head wielded unprecedented power and control, not just within the company, but in the world. When he dies, he doesn’t pass it off to a son, but to his only daughter: Elizabeth. Defying expectations that she’ll sell, Elizabeth sets out to gain control of the firm, fighting off greedy members and dangerous foes, including an assassin.
Nothing Lasts Forever
This medical thriller by Sidney Sheldon traces the twisty lives of three female doctors, each having a story of their own. The book races from the life and death decision of a big San Francisco hospital to the tension-packed fireworks of a murder trial. It lays bare the ambitions and fears of healers and killers, lovers, and betrayers. After I read this book, I was obsessed with it and could not get it out of my system for a really long time.
Rage of Angels
The novel focusses on Jennifer Garner, an attorney whose life takes an unexpected turn when she is wrongly accused of being involved with the Mafia. Trying to save her son’s life, Jennifer gets involved in the unlawful dealings of the Mafia and the head man Moretti himself. This is one book by Sidney Sheldon that you should definitely not miss.
Windmills of the Gods
Mary Ashley is a promising professor of Eastern European Studies at Kansas State University when she is appointed U.S. Ambassador to Romania, behind the Iron Curtain. But her appointment has marked her and her two young children, and once Mary arrives she becomes increasingly aware that someone close to her has been tasked with her assassination. She must learn who the assassin is and the motive behind the contract.
Memories of Midnight
The story centers around Catherine Douglas, tragedy-stricken and driven with amnesia, who desperately tries to return to reality. With an aim to challenge her husband’s murderer, the dangerous Greek shipping tycoon Constantin Demiris, Catherine arrives in the carefree playgrounds of post-war Europe, where Dimitris too, has his sights on her.
The Other Side of Midnight
The book features Noelle Page and Catherine Alexander, each coming from different social backgrounds, who at different points in time, end up marrying the same guy. Jealousy, conflict, and vengeance are central to the story where Catherine becomes a bone of contention for Noelle, who having risen high up in the social ladder, plans to have Larry all to herself.
Ps. I have read all of them! Which ones have you read?
