About the Author

Sowmya Rajendran has written for children of all ages, from picture books to young adult fiction and non-fiction. She won the Sahitya Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar for her novel Mayil will not be Quiet along with her co-author Niveditha Subramaniam in 2015. Sowmya grew up in Chennai and lives in Pune. She, unfortunately, does not have a dog or any exotic pet that she can include in her bio. She enjoys writing with a sense of humor and is interested in looking at stories from underexplored perspectives. Sowmya currently works with The News Minute, writing on gender, culture, and cinema.
