After writing her first novel, popular writer Nikita Gill returns to poetry. Her poetry book titled ‘Where Hope Comes From’ has been written in response to the global crisis. It will be published by Trapeze and will release on 18th February 2021.
Gill was quoted saying, “It was so essential to me this year to return to my roots with my poetry—the idea of creating from a place of hope has never felt more important and that is where this book has originated from. I think of human beings as a deeply resilient species and we have it in ourselves to be kind to each other especially in times of crisis. This was the place writing this book has taken me to and what I hope people take from it.”
Her viral poem, ‘Love in the Time of Coronavirus’ will be a part of the book. The poem has been shared over 12,000 times since it released during the lockdown.
Sam Eades, Publishing Director at Trapeze, told The Bookseller “Nikita’s poem ‘Love in the Time of Coronavirus’ resonated with so many of us during a time of uncertainty and fear, and I’m thrilled to be welcoming her back to the Trapeze Books list with the beautiful and necessary collection, Where Hope Comes From. She is an author who truly embodies the imprint’s mission statement, writing books and verse that sparks conversation and that readers will want to share and talk about.”
Gill already has a book coming out- her first novel in verse ‘The Girl and the Goddess’ will release on 1st October, 2020. It’s a coming-of-age tale of a young girl.
