We are all going through tough times right now with the virus affecting all aspects of our life. It’s a no-filter, honest descriptive of the author’s life on how she faces the situation with grit, determination, faith, and hope. The story will give you a new perceptive to life and implant a ray of hope in you.
What inspires you to pick up your pen and write?
The urge of sharing inspiring stories and spreading positivity with the world is the sheer reason why I put on my author’s hat every now and then. Maybe that’s why I come up with at least one blog post every week.
Can you please give us some more information about your book?
Home Quarantined – a story of hope, inspiration & kindness is a book that has many layers of self-introspection and humanity. It’s a real story which was written when my parents were being treated in the COVID-19 isolation center and I was home quarantined.
Can you please tell us more about the main characters of the book?
The best thing about the characters is that they all are real. I have not created any one of them because of which they seem to be larger than life. Each character in this book has played an exquisite role in my life and hence I’ve written this an unfiltered story.
Why did you choose to write about this particular topic?
Not in my wildest dreams had I thought of writing a personal experience on COVID-19 but I had to go through this brutal virus. During my home quarantined days, I witnessed a new face of humanity and I thought the world should know about it. I also wished to inspire my readers to tackle the most difficult situation of life with hope and positivity in mind and so I went for it.
Why did you choose this particular genre? Will you be trying your hand at any other genre?
As much as it inspires a writer to write a real-life story, so does it excites the reader to know it. As I had a first-hand COVID-19 experience I was sure it will help a lot of people out there, and without any further ado, I wrote and published this book on Amazon. Yes, I’ll definitely go for other genres too in the future.
When should we expect your next book? What will it be about?
Pretty soon, I’d say. It’s ready to be out on Amazon. Well, it’s yet another relatable and interesting topic. Let’s keep that a secret.
If not a writer, what would have been the career of your choice?
An IT professional, maybe.
Can you tell us about your favorite author/ authors?
I’ve grown up reading Sudha Murthy’s work and have loved her ever since. Gradually, I found myself reading Nicholas Sparks, Robin Sharma, Ruskin Bond, and my all-time favorite author is Preeti Shenoy. I’m in complete awe of her personality, her blogs, and her books.
What do you like to do when you are not busy writing?
I like to journal. Though I’m not a good artist, I make a collage in my journal whenever I’m not writing. This activity gives me immense happiness that I’ve created something on a blank page.
Are there any words of wisdom that you would like to share with our readers?
Reading is one of the best healing processes which is often neglected by doctors and patients. I would like to tell the readers not to underestimate the power of reading and to keep reading irrespective of the ups and downs that come in your life.
