The Art of Being Grateful & Other Stories: Book Review

The art of being grateful book review

The Art of Being Grateful & Other Stories by Manali Desai is a collection of 8 short stories. It is a perfect read for those who want to read something light-hearted. The book does not take long to finish as it is of less than 100 pages. All the short stories in the book were unique and relatable. They sounded like something you and I could be a part of. The best part of the book is that people belonging to any age group can read it and find it meaningful.

The writing style is simple and engaging. One thing that I found interesting was the addition of photographs before each story. It really added to the reading experience and broke the monotony of looking at one page after the other. Each story in the book has a different storyline with different characters and perspectives. The title of each story gave you an idea of what was coming up. All the stories leave you with a lesson that you can take on in your life.

My Opinion

The art of being grateful is the kind of book that can be read and enjoyed by everyone. It does not matter if you are just a beginner or not a fan of short stories. It has something for everyone. The only complaint that I have from this book is that some of the stories could have been more detailed. There were times I was hoping to find out more about the character or what happened next. One of my favorite parts of reading this book was the section titled ‘Bonus Reading’. The two-three liners at the end of the book were a treat. I enjoyed reading them the most. The book is a simple and meaningful read and perfect for anyone looking for some motivation and meaning in life.
