What Is Animal Cruelty And Why It Is Wrong?

All living things have a right to live on this earth. The earth belongs to each and every creature that inhabits it and calls the earth their home. We, humans, are cruel creatures. We are under the impression that we control everything around us and have the right to rule over animals.  We, very often become, totally, insensitive to the pain of animals only because they can’t speak the language of humans. They don’t have a voice!

The man in his greed has recklessly been plundering the natural abode of animals. Killing them indiscriminately for pleasure and for food. Animals are being killed for their skin as well as other parts of the body.  Innocent animals are being used for experiments and scientific research. Animals are being captured to make pets out of them, they are hunted mercilessly. Sometimes, when pets become old, they are abandoned by owners who don’t think about them at all. And if all of this was not enough animals are also being tortured at almost every street corner.

The plight of cows and stray dogs is a common sight in India. Is it not cruelty to let them roam around on the streets, and let them eat garbage dumped on the road. We expose them to fast-moving traffic and also to some mischievous elements in our society who think torturing these poor creatures is alright. The time has come for us humans to realize our mistakes and treat animals nicely. If if we do not stop animal cruelty then we one day we will be lest with nothing.
